The first one's okay, can't remember the second at all and this will never be seen again unless every other Christmas film i own suddenly refuses to play ever again.

A Christmas Carol: The Musical. 2004.

Made for T.V. film that seems to be a take on a stage show with Kelsey Grammer (yes Dr Frasier Crane) as the bitter old miser who is given a chance to change his ways. This one is different from the other films as it doesn't mention anything about Jacob Marley being dead as a door nail. Scrooge's mother is alive while he is in his teens and his father is not bitter towards him. Jason Alexander plays Jacob Marley and shows off his singing skills as does Mr Grammer with some good songs mixed in, this may not be for everyone's taste but enjoyable enough to keep you out of trouble.

Feeders 2: Slay Bells (1998)

Festively themed sequel. Yes, our tiny terrors are back, but Santa saves the day this time. Why the dog doesn't just chew them all to death, I'm unsure (dramatic tension?). I enjoyed this slightly more, the dialogue is still terrible and the FX sheeesh. But I finally found one that fits the criteria haha.

Jack Skellington the king of Halloween is bored of the holiday so decides to kidnap Santa and take over Christmas , things of course don't go according to plan with the citizens of Halloween town idea of what Christmas should be and things get worse when Jack's nemesis Oogie Boogie kidnaps Santa. Perfect family viewing at either Xmas or Halloween , fantastic stop motion effects, story and catchy songs. A classic. 9.5/10

The Thing. 1982.

A U.S. Research team in Antarctica, are besieged by a Norwegian helicopter chasing a dog, after gunning down the shooter, some members fly to their station where everyone is dead or missing and come across a strange creature. They soon find out the creature is a alien that can shape shift into anyone.

John Carpenter at the helm, special effects by Rob Bottin and Kurt Russell as the lead actor...what more do you want? What starts off as Science-fiction alien spaceship crashing, small shoot out then all hell braking loose with tension building up with the actors playing their role perfectly and mixed in with paranoia and claustrophobia with no where to turn and escape. The original 50s movie was a classic and Carpenter mixing it up with his vision of isolation at it's darkest. The background score by Ennio Morricone just adds more suspense to the film when tension arises and Dean Cundey providing great cinematography as always, total shame the 2011 prequel got spoiled by not following the same path as this one with the effects.

The Grinch

Jim Carey excels in a role he was born to play, always a favorite of mine. The recent animated version with Benedict Cumberbatch isn't bad but this version is far superior.

Daddy's Home 2

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are Co-Dads that are getting along only for their Dads, a talkative John Lithgow and a mans man Mel Gibson. For Christmas, they all go to a Ski Lodge where a load of comic mishaps occur. I rather enjoyed this, it's silly but it's fun.

Santa Claus: The Movie

The story of how Santa came to be and also tells the story of a Elf (Dudley Moore) who goes to New York and gets taken advantage off by a Toymaker (John Lithgow). This is from 1985 and it's probably the 1st film, I ever saw at the Cinema (I got rather restless, I believe) it looks like it was shot in a old fashioned way and the FX are pretty good for it's time. Wasn't really sure if I would like it but I rather enjoyed it. Even though the alternate VHS/DVD cover isn't too bad but it's not a patch on the classic VHS Rental cover.
