A Christmas Carol. 1984.

George C. Scott plays the miser is this version With Frank Finlay as his old Partner Jacob Marley and David Warner as his clerk Bob Cratchit. Angela Pleasance and Edward Woodward play the ghosts of Christmas past and present brilliantly and entertainingly.

With the segment of ghost of Christmas yet to come, this seems to follow the dark Gothic style with the tone of Scrooge's future that may not be altered and the walk through the cemetery gives it a bit more of a eerie feeling and the colour of a man's heart, yet come Christmas day he has a ray of brightness around him.

Not a movie but is anyone watching the Morecambe and Wise newly found episode tonight on BBC2?

I think it's great that they are still finding historical tv episodes that were once thought totally lost forever.

Also last night's Ghost Story for Christmas The Mezzotint was f*cking superb. I admit i'm biased because it's my fave M.R. James stoey but director and writer Mark Gatiss did a terrific job with it, making a difficult to film story of a haunted piece of artwork totally compelling and eerie viewing.

Watch it on I-Player if you didn't see it or be banned from Cult Labs for life.

It's A wonderful Life.

One of the best Christmas movies to be made and a great performance by James Stewart, Donna Reed and Henry Travers. Every time I watch this I feel someone is next to me cutting a onion or two.

For a change i'm going to watch The Blue Carbuncle. One of the first series of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and a witty episode set at Christmas. Not seen it in years and on;ly recently saw it was a Christmas themed episode.

I've watched the Patrick Stewart version every year since it was first released, so that's 23 times i've watched it.

This is the second year for me watching it, for some reason my Mrs doesn't seem to enjoy it.
