To be fair, my bottom 10 is generally made up of older films - most of which are actually '60s monster movies. I seem to be in the market for a dose of self-punishment at the moment, as even though they're awful, I can't get enough of them for some reason, and should have a few more lined up for this week. The bottom ten will therefore shift again no doubt.

All great films though - for the record, the only one I own of those is Hana-Bi. As I've said I rarely blind buy... I will be picking some/all of those others up at some point now though as well as many others on the list that I don't currently own.

2016 is more than half-way over already and my current tally of films watched thus far is now 350 - I'm actually slightly surprised that I've managed to see so many; however a fair chunk of them have been low-budget schlock which clock in at just over an hour a piece so that may account for some of it.

Updated Top 10 new to me films:

1. Beauty and the Beast (1978)
2. A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014)
3. Mysterious Skin (2004)
4. Heroic Purgatory (1970)
5. Eros + Massacre (1969)
6. Conspirators of Pleasure (1996)
7. Enemy (2013)
8. Witchhammer (1970)
9. Woman in the Dunes (1964)
10. Mandara (1971)

Top 10 worst new to me films:

1. Monster a-Go Go (1965)
2. The Creeping Terror (1964)
3. The Beach Girls and the Monster (1965)
4. The Beast of Yucca Flats (1961)
5. The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) (2015)
6. Waking Life (2001)
7. Dracula (The Dirty Old Man) (1969)
8. Creature from the Haunted Sea (1961)
9. The Beast that Killed Women (1965)
10. Nocturna (1979)

The 'new to me' list currently stands at 287 titles.

Even more so when it comes down to remembering individual film titles and/or directors. I tend to make a note of films that pique my interest on my watch-list nowadays, although that in itself has become an unmanageable sprawling beast.

I've still yet to see any of those Brain Damage titles.
And some times you just quickly glance at odd post, depending how much time youve got or how tired you are, its hard work trying to fit daily life, friends, work, tv, films, music, and the 10 or so internet sites you go on a regular occurance, and that doesn't include and social network sites, all into a daily occurance phew im knackered thinking about it all zzzzzzzzzz

I'm keeping my diary up to date, now that we're halfway through the year I have watched 138 films, and the majority of those were first time viewings. I've discovered some excellent films in 2016 and been to the cinema a lot more than I have ever been in such a short period of time.

All films seen this year so far

And my cinema visits, which for some reason wont let me select the year but is in date order!

I see you didn't think much of Ab Fab: The Movie, Justin. It was one I was curious about watching what with growing up with and being a casual fan of the show.

I love the show, it's one of my favourites but the film is quite a miss, you'll notice that while the majority of the press reviews are positive they tend to give it a spin that 'it's just what we need post Brexit'. There are a few good bits but it's spread too thin for the 90 minutes and after a while the celeb cameos get tiresome.

It sounds like a bit a missed opportunity unfortunately.

I may be something that I'll check out eventually but am in no hurry.
