A while back, I posted that I was occasionally forced to thoroughly wipe down new 4K discs to get them to play properly on my Sony UBP X700 player. I later read some recommendations to set player upscaling to completely off and also switch cinema conversion mode to video. Since then I've had no issues at all, hopefully that's an end to the problems I was sometimes having.
