Keep Britain Tidy
This over-the-top film from 1975 ironically highlights the problems of litter in our ‘green and pleasant land’. In fact, the recording of William Blake’s ‘Jerusalem’ in this clip was performed by the late Sir Harry Secombe.

SAY NO TO STRANGERS
Directed by The Long Good Friday director John Mackenzie (1932–2011),probably would have been more effective if it had Bob Hoskins smashing a pedo with a broken bottle Warns children of the dangers of going with strangers. People are seen on a street, the school playground; a man in a car tries to get a girl into his car, she refuses. The film then shows what may have happened if she had accepted. The man takes her back to his flat, while the mother returns home to find an empty flat. A schoolfriend gives evidence to the police. The mother and father are shown at home and the police visit. The girl returns home, badly bruised after her assault. |

UDR – Car Bomb UDR – Car Bomb. I suspose we forget that the seventies had car bombings,so lets relive those halcyon days Alan Partridge "Yeah. I think the Irish are going through a major image change. I mean, the old image of Leprechauns, shamrocks, Guinness, horses running through council estates, toothless simpletons, people with eyebrows on their cheeks, badly tarmacced drives in this country, men in platform shoes being arrested for bombings, lots of rocks, and Beamish. I think people are saying yes, there's more to Ireland than this. A good slogan for the tourist board [does the bad Irish accent again] Deres more to Oireland dan dis. |
