Was it not a volleyball? ;-) I always liked the daft Tom Hanks movie "Joe vs the Volcano". I hadn't seen it in years and years, but watched it again at some point last summer after it was on tv - the SyFy channel I think. Great silly stuff. He was great in The Ladykillers too, and I've enjoyed his serious roles like The Green Mile and Saving Private Ryan. Thinking back to when I were a lad, Tom Hanks seemed to be in everything. Constant Tom Hanks bombardment when watching the trailers on any given video. I remember an incident in the Funster household after a trailer came on for the film That Thing You Do, and my dad went on a pure rant about how he hated Tom Hanks and how it was just another Tom Hanks movie being churned out to top up his bank balance and us sheep would undoubtedly buy into it cause it's Tom Hanks. He can have a bit of a monotone voice at times, and I can understand why people maybe aren't overly fond of him. Certainly though, he has stood the test of time better than Steve Guttenberg! |

Forrest Gump is an incredibly subversive film It takes everything that America holds dear, and turns it on its head

Screenbound announced this on fb today In honour of what would have been Sir Christopher Lee's 94th birthday today, I am pleased to announce that the underrated horror slasher, Funnyman, directed by Simon Sprackling, is going in for a 2k restoration and will be released on Blu-ray either before Christmas or early in the New Year. |
