Widescreen?

No idea about widescreen, but yeah, this one uses the whole of the poster, unlike the German blu-ray. Even if it isn't widescreen, there's zero chance it'll look as bad as the German one.

Whatever you think of Thunderdome as a film, the artwork's still knockout!

Whatever happened to these eh?
Classics of artwork greatness!

The below artwork is the reason I've kept my Japanese DVD of MAD MAX.
There was a French boxset release which utilized that classic artwork of MAD MAX 2 on an Amaray,bUt I gave up after being sent numerous pisser triple disc sets from Amazon France sellers.
Mmmmmmmm....

I never owned that Japanese disc of the first film but it was among the first DVDs from that country I saw in Cinema Store in 1998, along with stuff like HEAT and POINT BREAK which hadn't come out in the US.

I think the integrale version of LEON was the first Japanese DVD I bought and that was later on in the same year.

I had that Leon disc (if it's the one I'm thinking of, released by Paramount along with Point Break?).

Mine wasn't paramount, can't remember the label, definitely one that was Japanese, rather than a worldwide conglomerate. It came in a CD-size 'jewel case'.

Cost about £35 from one of the film fairs in Watford.

Ah, interesting. Mine definitely wasn't Paramount and as I said came in one of those loathsome CD cases.
