You're right. I just had to turn around in my chair to check it out - it's on my wall, in the size of a post card. I like the artwork quite a lot.

Like the source Arrow Video used for their DVD release, the German artwork spells Katherine instead of Catriona. Well, basically it's the same, innit?

Greetings!

The Frighteners is being released on BD in the US in September featuring both the theatrical and director's cuts. Peter Jackson has said that the marketing campaign was one of the reasons for the films failure at the box office.....so this piece of shit is what Universal have come up with for the BD cover!

Great news about The Hills Have Eyes, but not so great about The Frighteners due to that utterly abysmal artwork -- why couldn't they have stuck with an image like that in the UK DVD?

Apparently, Peter Jackson says that image doesn't represent the content of the film, and one of the reasons the film failed at the box-office. It's a great image imo. Fair enough, if he doesn't want it used, then use the other artwork (below). It's not great, but it's preferable to the new art. The BD cover is something the Universal marketing dept have obviously came up with again, judging by the terrible covers of their recent BD's

If the content is up to scratch and a real step up from the DVD, I'll buy it anyway.

All the content from the dvd is included (3 3/4hr doc and 45mins of storyboards, commentary, no trailers though!) plus the 2 versions of the film, so it's a day one purchase for me even with the bad artwork.

Got some even better news.....Steven Speilberg has confirmed that work has begun on the BD of Jaws. Yay!!!
