That's a good night's viewing, Phil. I recently watched Xtro for the first time and thought it was really good. I then watched Xtro II, which is a real mess of ideas rolled into one, not quite working and is really an interesting concept which is poorly executed.

Stagefright is an odd slasher, but one I quite liked and is certainly a giallo I'll revisit, if only with the commentary.
Phurious likes this.

Watched 28 Weeks Later last night on E4 for the first time. Although not as good as the first one, still a good film even though it was a tad repetitive, i.e they get chased, escape, get chased again, escape etc.

Watched the Eyes of Crystal last night. One of the best modern giallos i've seen for a while.
And this morning i watched the classic Emanuelle and The Last Cannibals. Any film with Laura Gemser and a smoking chimpanzee is a winner imo.

The Antichrist (1974)
L'anticristo (1974) - IMDb

There's no news that the italians were very eager to put out cash-in's on already successful Hollywood productions. But what striked me the most about Alberto De Martino's obvious The Exorcist inspired film was how well put together it really is and apart from a cast that delivers some very decent performances, especially Carla Gravina, the cinemagraphy by Joe D'Amato is very impressive and shows what a great talent is really was. To point out a few weaknesses the score by Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai was quite a let down compared to many of their other works as they usually hava a effect to bring more atmosphere.
But still this is a nice film and has probably been aproved by the dark one himself. Check it out!

I found this in my "to watch" pile of films earlier today. I'll have to bump it up the pile a bit now.
