Watched the musical remake of The Producers last night. One of my favourite comedy films, it never fails to cheer me up (although the ending does drag considerably).

"Keep it gay! Keep it gay! Keep it gaaaaaaaaay"

Also watched this recently...

in the last couple of days i've seen..

horrors of malformed men - quite weird japanese dr moreau rip off from tesuro ishii..it dragged a bit but there was some great ridiculous imagery. i like the people with cling film wrapped round their heads.

pigsty - wow that was strange, a bit of a precurser to salo, very stripped down and dream-like. i'm a bit haunted by this one and not quite sure what it all meant, but it was definately great.

the conformist - one of the most beautiful amazingly stylish films i ever laid eyes on, storaro really was the man before he went funny in the head and started butchering his old composistions. thank god he didn't get his grubby mitts on this one.

roma - another great carnival of fellini madness. no real story more like rome through fellini's eyes. beautiful and mad. toby dammit is still my favourite though.

i've also been repeatedly watching the bfi devils dvd and showing it to my ignorant friends. it gets better every time. nothing much i can say about it it except i agree with mark kermode, one of the best 10 films ever made.

Disco Beaver From Outer Space!!! Me want!!

Adam Chaplin. Take a pinch of Tetsuo, a smattering of Ricky O and a teasing of Fist Of The North Star, sprinkle about 4 and a half pages of script, stick it in at volume 11, leave just enough for it to be half baked regardless when it matures...hmmm.
Will be be rewatching this shortly, so may post another review, cool effects etc.

I watched "Black Swan" and "Neds" last night for the first time (i know, i know, real late to the party with Black Swan!) and enjoyed both immensely.

Pretty sure i prefered The Wrestler over Black Swan however it's probably just because i've been a wrestling fan for most of my life and know next to nothing about ballet!
