Great flick.

I have been a horror fan for ages but have only recently come across the films of Pete Walker and I am really enjoying what I have seen so far.
House of Whipcord is on my pile of unwatched discs but, as it's been mentioned quite a few times here recently, it's one I will probably watch this week.

I picked up the Shriek Show British Horror Quadruple Feature used for $13.49 and when I got home and opened it I saw that all the movies were stilled sealed in the factory shrink wrap.

Still have Die Screaming, Marianne (1971) and Frightmare (1974) left to watch

but after reading all the good comments regarding Frghtmare I am going to save that one for last.
bdc and Demoncrat like this.

I don't think either of us have a copy!

We just fancied those two really. Classics both!

Last night I went to see Marvel Avengers Assemble.

It was OK. Not great, but passable. Better than the appalling Thor, nowhere near as good as the first Iron Man.

It has many problems (mostly dialogue and Chris Bloody Hemsworth - awful actor) but isn't actually offensive.

Is it just me, or is that one of the worst film titles in living memory?

I know, a totally unnecessary name-change. How many people were initially flocking to the cinema in the hope of seeing some Uma Thurman and Sean Connery spy action?

The answer = probably the same number that did in 1998 - none

MIDNIGHT RUN - one of the best action comedies ever
De Niro was excellent and Grodin was funny, brilliant film

started watching some of my jim jarmusch collection.

started with Down by law (wrong order I know).

Fantastic movie beutifully shot by Robby muller, should get a blu-ray treatment some day but looks great on upscale.

Classic jarmusch, dark and funny with some great acting, especially from tom waits (who also provides music) and roberto benigni.

Next up...stranger than paradise.

As it was the most hyped film this year (so far), they could've just called it Avengers and people would have still flocked to the cinema to watch it.

The title is well discussed in this article in the Guardian:
