I've had a boot of the Greek VHS for years. It's so degraded that it looks like the ultimate in found footage snuff. Still it didn't freak me out as much as "The Taming of Rebecca" in the roughie stakes, which is so rough and wrong, my mind body, soul and knackers are to this day still chaffed.

I've heard a lot of people mention 'Taming Of...' in the same light. I haven't seen it yet, don't know it stacks up against other of the vile roughies, but it must be pretty harsh if it sours your apples.
I borrowed the After Hours rlease of 'Forced...' from a friend who is actually a cousellor! Is she using it to traumatise people to build up a client base?

Forced Entry is something else, a unflinching gaze into a truly twisted, screwed up psyche - its like an anti Taxi Driver, no conventional romantic, political etc 'story' elements, just the really bad stuff in Travis's head. Its basically a porn movie that's impossible to wank over unless the random insertion of war atrocity footage doesn't bother you of course. The Taming of Rebecca struck me as standard sleazy 70s incest/rape fantasy stuff until the last 10 minutes when they broke out the needles and stuff, now that was nasty! Must admit I've a weak stomach for this material just a peek at the Avon studios 'Sadistic Seventies' series sends me running for them hills.

It's on my wishlist! Trouble is my wishlist is epic, so its a case of working through it slowly.

Watched a fansubbed anime called SANKAREA. It's well worth looking out for when it gets a stateside release. It's about a teenager whose obsessed with zombie movie's and dreams of a Zombie girlfriend. One day he finds a strange old book with a recipe for a ressurection formula in it. A teen girl with an abusive father drinks the formula and later dies trying to escape from him only to be ressurected! Much twisted romantic comedy ensues.

Also out on blu-ray stateside but somewhat dear at the minute is SHIKI. With this one think a japanese salems lot and your on the right track. Very good indeed.

I watched Bullet for the General last night - it had been some time since I last saw it. Really enjoyed it; far better viewing it the second time.

The BU blu is also great - it has a terrific documentary on the actor who plays EL Chuncho - Gian Maria Volonte. Very well done.

Easily one of my BU blu faves.

Watched Axe(Lisa,Lisa) last night, according to IMDB it was shot in 11 days, funnily enough that's how long I felt I was watching it for.

I reckon 'Axe' is an acquired taste, but it's really one of my fave weird 70s horror flicks. I can see how it might come across as boring, but to me it just has a really eerie, detached quality - similar to his other one, 'Kidnapped Coed'. There's a point in the movie when the camera points to a dolls head on a piece of green carpet, and a discordant synth note strikes up on the soundtrack - that for me is the key to this film. If such an incongruous, pointless but somehow jarringly weird little fragment gives you a lift, then you've got this movie licked.

It was late last night when I watched it so I was tired. I'm sure I'd appreciate it more if I watched it again, I was expecting more considering its status as a former nasty back in the day(mind you, that's the case with most of the DPP39)
