Night of the Zombies

I was literally falling asleep watching it due to it being padded out with so much filler. (And it's only 75 mins long!) Which is a shame, as when some Zombie action finally happens at the end it's quite fun, in a Zombie Holocaust "I could easily kill you now, but I'm determined to have your brain!" type of way.

Marnie

A pleasure to watch from beginning to end, helped by the lush photography and score.

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II - A marked improvement over the first tedious instalment. Has nothing to do with its predecessor apart from the Prom Night setting and disbands from the original's slasher setup in favour of a more supernatural story involving possession. Lots of strange nods to The Exorcist and the influence of A Nightmare on Elm Street-style surreal sequences make for a film that's by no means great but, unlike the original, is at least rarely dull.

.
I was like that with The Dead Next Door. The film was so boring and the acting was so bad, that I turned it off after 25 minutes, which is Something I haven't sone since Brick.

Yea I switched off The Dead Next Door too.
For all it's many many faults, at least "Night of the Zombies" had an old Grindhouse feel to it, to keep me curious enough to (just about) finish it.

I've never seen Night of the Zombies before.

Watched the loony Crank: High Voltage again. Still one of the funniest films I've seen this century.
Mate has expressed interest in 2019: After The Fall of New York after flicking through my newly created 23rd Century "section" (I have 22! argh! need one more in a purely totemic way ) so thatll be getting stuck in the player at some point.

Talking of The Evil Dead, does the single disk US AB release have the 4:3 version or was it just the Limited Edition?

I would really rather have the uncropped take.

Both releases have a BD with the film available in 1.33:1 and 1.85:1, but the Limited Edition one has another disc with all the extra features.
Gojirosan likes this.

I wouldn't recommend it, unless you see it for 5p as I did!
And it did have a similar effect to other retro cheap-o's I've seen where you think "What the Hell did I just watch - and who spiked my drink!?"

Sir, you are a legend. Thank you. Really not bothered about the extra disk of stuff.
