I really like it, it's not the best Gordon/Yuzna Lovecraft adaptation but still very good.

The effects are a bit crap but it oozes atmosphere. I'd like a blu of it.

I think a lot of 'purists' expect a direct and unaltered adaptation of lovecrafts work, which is easier said than done. Dagon was relocated to spain because thats where the money was to shoot the movie, it had taken years to get it off the ground. I think the gore is a little ott but I actually think its a good adaptation of the story.

Skyfall for me last night, wow great film and the best Bond film in years. PQ & AQ were also superb.

You reminded me - I've got that lying around unopened somewhere in my room. Maybe tonight . . .

Graduation Day

It's funny how much this has grown on me recently, after dismissing it for years, since the days of video.

It's just so endearingly naff, like how they try to make most of the cast suspects, (Everyone seems to be having a really bad day and are cranky as hell.) the overacting "locker girls" and the band that seemingly only know one song!

Since I now apparently represent "the world" (sheeesh, this would mean Ferox instead of Attenborough, Fulci instead of Bay etc ), I can only say that The Shadow Over Innsmouth is one of my favourite HPL stories. Therefore shoddy versions of such will be pilloried at every opportunity......

Ahem. AAAnyway.....

Watched
Stand Up Guys, a sort of The Bucket List with "gangsters", decent understated performances, and a old school ST help this little gem along to a slightly clunkly and mawkish ending but still better than any Guy Ritchie crap.

Statham! Winstone! Gazzara! Rourke! Sam Riley! Er, 50 Cent!? A-bleedin'-hem! To say that this is convoluted would be underselling it. This is not a criticism!! Quite tense in places imo, this doesn't outstay it's welcome, and even though it's apparently a remake, ignorance is bliss in some cases....
