Scary Movie 5 - The tickets were free, and I still felt ripped off. Absolute crap, the only laughs I got were (more like chuckles) from some last ditch references, slapstick violence, and an Evil Dead remake send up. The abundance of 12 year olds comprising a peanut gallery behind me didn't help. Glad to see they got their market audience though.

Wild Target (2009) Dismissed as rubbish on here by Justin101 when i posted it on another thread along with a few other modern comedies i picked up. Personally i found Wild Target to be a charming, witty, sometimes hilarious, British hitman comedy. Bill Nighy plays a meticulous hitman employed by Rupert Everett to knock off Emily Blunt's conwoman after she scammed him in an art deal. The cast including Martin Freeman and Harry Potter's Rupert Grint are top notch and all produce wonderfully quirky turns. The story romps along at a furious pace and the viewer warms to all the characters as the film progresses even with the knowledge that not all will make it to the end. With standout dialogue and decent action set pieces, Wild Target was even better second time around and makes for a fun ninety minutes entertainment. |

Whilst not films i would want to watch regularly, they are films i enjoy if i'm in the mood. Especially the first one. The others do get worse as they go along, but hey, i can't help smile at Anna Farris. |

Jack Reacher....again not what I was expecting of this movie. From the trailers I thought it was an all out action film. It does have action but also a good storyline and once again Tom Cruise is brilliant American Reunion....I held off on seeing this film as I wasn't sure it would be as good as the original films. It was, and I really enjoyed it. I like these films as they were out when I was at high school so the content was relevant to me at the time For me it is pure nostalga. Long live the Stifmeister |

I don't own any of them but I will admit I do enjoy them, I watched the first 3 at the cinema. I do notice how people are quick to slate the Scary Movie films, but love films like Airplane and The Naked Gun

Whilst both types are clearly parodies, the Zucker films are new films with added jokes, whilst the "Movies" are scenes stolen from other films and turned into comedy set pieces rather than stand alone films. I know i'm not making this very clear but i hope you get my drift. |
