Fans of the X-Files could do worse than check out the dvd boxed sets of seasons 1 & 2 of Supernatural.Graphically violent at times (lots of throat-slittings) though the lack of swearing bar "frigging" & "pissed" betrays its TV origins (still surprisingly brutal though).Nicely atmospheric & well acted too.Season 3 hits dvd here in August.(A shorter season I assume due to the writers strike in the US)

I'll pick this up soon with the second Grindhouse Trailers release.I always thought the film was underrated.

I watched Papaya Love Goddess of the Cannibals last night - surprisingly good movie!! Not much of the title holds true though, but it's a damn entertaining Joe D'Amato sleaze-opus!

I also watched his Sesso Nero... which is straight hardcore, but again - very entertaining!

Well, the day before yesterday I had a 'Evil Dead' marathon!!!! I watched all 3 'Evil Dead' films back to back in one night! BRILLIANT!!!!!!!! I luv 'Evil Dead' and the musical version of it (I started a thread about it but no replies yet! Maybe musicals aren't ur guys 'thing' lol!)

Then last night I watched 'A Shot In The Dark" - brilliant too! 4/5

Watched the Spanish release of Corruption last night and loved it to bits! Peter Cushing is fantastic in this - in fact, for me this is up with Twins Of Evil and Tales From The Crypt as his best ever performance.

Unfortunately, this isn't the 'Continental' version, but the picture quality is terrific and it's a bloody good film! Highly recommended.

Yes Corruption is a great bit of nastiness. Weird to see Cushing running amok in swinging London with the likes of Sue Lloyd and a bowl-haired Billy Murray.

Another good Cushing performance is in the early non-horror film Cone Of Silence as a shitty & superior airline pilot.

Just watched WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SOLANGE? another giallo masterpiece! This would make an excellent Shameless release!
Would like to see the third part of his 'schoolgirls in peril' trilogy also.....

The Witch who Came from the Sea

Too sluggishly paced to generate any real tension. Under produced as well.

There's very little violence in the film and whatever there is looks unconvincing.

The film appears to have just scraped through the BBFC uncut because the scenes between the father and daughter are very disturbing.

Mardi Gras Massacre

Dull, Dull, Dull. Also extremely amateurish.
The murder scenes are just plain ridiculous.
