It's a pretty good concept. Too bad it's used as an excuse to make a pretty average home invasion film.

I was pretty wary before watching this. I just wanted to see it for the curiosity. It's a pretty average thriller that's been done hundreds of times before. It does win extra points for it's ending. 6/10
I enjoyed the film and concept was new, shame it decided to go down the been done before route,
2nd one is better and I thought this really should have been the first one,

Rewatched Crank. Liked it more this time, but not a patch on the looney sequel really.

Watched Green Butchers (see CLMR thread).

Speaking of The Purge, has anyone else noticed Ethan Hawke seems to be turning into Max Headroom???

Just a thought.........

You should be able to pick up a used copy pretty cheap. It's Film 2000, so obviously don't expect miracles, but the AV quality is actually fine and for once it's in its correct aspect ratio and not cropped to full screen (though non-anamorphic).

As for Driscoll's other mistakes, I'm tempted to track them down but they seem weirdly expensive.
Ditto!! Aka Highway To Hell btw.

Watched Blade Runner last night as part of Newcastle's Screenage Kicks pop-up cinema event. Incredible stuff. Viewed it in a massive hall in Newcastle's Discovery Museum with loads of actors as characters from the film walking around and re-enacting parts of the film in time with the screen. Had a local band on before and after doing their own arrangements of Vangelis tracks. Utterly fab night.

You should watch the sequel (The Purge: Anarchy), which is everything the first film should have been.
