Enemies Closer

It was OK but not as good as other Van Damme films. Most of it takes place in the dark and Van Damme has sexy ginger curly hair, I would watch it if you are a Van fan but if not just stick to Maximum Risk or Double Impact, hell even his other straight to DVD films are better than this.

5/10

I went to see Goosebumps last night. It's actually pretty damn good feeling a lot like an 80s kids movie like The Goonies.

A warning to those with younger kids who might want to go and see this with them, it's actually pretty scary to be honest!

Well that's one film not to bother with then.

THE MAN FROM NOWHERE
One of the CFF's Scary Stories on this BFI collection of spooky kids tales from the 70s and 80s.
It follows a young girl moving from an orphanage to live with her surly old rich uncle in the country. However, she is constantly seeing visions of a spooky bearded man in a top hat, who tries to het her to go back where she came from.
Despite a bit of a Scooby Doo type ending, this is an enjoyable story and nicely played.

THE PARTY'S OVER
An American businessman comes to London to marry his fiancee, only to find she got involved with a gang of drunken Beatniks, lead by Oliver Reed. When she disappears after one of their parties gets out of hand, it leads him to discover something much more sinister.
Oliver Reed steals the show in this controversial and surprisingly downbeat 1963 movie that suffered badly at the hands of the censors back in the day.
Fortunately the BFI have presented the original uncensored version on their wonderful Flipside blu ray edition. Highly recommended.

.
Those CFF releases are on the whole excellent. I have Scary Stories, Weird Adventures and London Tales and can recommend them all.

It's a tale as old as time

For me one of Disney's best, great songs, acting and characters, bound to leave even the coldest heart with a warm feeling. 9/10

I'm not a Goonies fan myself, but i just thought that Goosebumps had the feel of films which we had in the 80s as kids and that was the only one that came to mind

It's probably more Monster Squad lite

I've never seen Beauty & The Beast or any of the other 90's resurgence Disney movies, our house growing up was strictly old-school Disney, I think The Aristocats was the most modern tape we had
