Housebound (2014) A young woman under house arrest in her childhood home suspects the house may be home to something evil. Although i'd had this a while i was saving it as i'd only heard good things about it, and last night seemed the right time to watch it. Well i have to say what a disappointment it was. In fact it was barely a horror film and what horror there was seemed distilled by the typical New Zealand quirkiness films like Bad Taste did so well. Imagine if you will a cross between Braindead and The People Under the Stairs minus the gore and fetish wear. Although it was well acted the characters were bumbling oafs throughout to the point of being cartoonish. I never felt any suspense at any time. To it's credit the film is different from the norm it just sadly failed to engage me. Footnote - All the IMDB reviews seemed very much in favour so perhaps it's just me. |

forgotten how funny this teen/horror comedy is. a stoner/slacker hand is possessed by on evil spirit , after killing his parents and both of his best friends he chops of his hand, and this is not the end of his problems as it goes on a killing spree and sets its sites on the girl of his dreams. with the help of his best friends which have came back as zombies he sets out to save the girl he loves. very gory and funny, and above most of the usual teen horror comedy's. 8/10 Now watching the most homoerotic thing to hit the silver screen!! |
