I was torn when scoring it really, as although it's ropey, awkward, and a little painful to sit through at times there were interesting bits bubbling below the surface and it's tongue was firmly in cheek throughout. The cult cast including David Hess, Michael Berryman and Herschell Gordon Lewis clearly enjoyed themselves whilst making it and clearly wanted to create something that harked back to their heydays of making schlock, but at the same time would appeal to more modern audiences. I'm glad I finally got around to seeing it mainly for the reasons expressed above, but I doubt I'll be seeking it out again; hence an 'average' score from me. |

The Babysitter (2017) McG actually made something I genuinely liked. ***1/2 out of ***** Geostorm (2017) Worth a watch. *** out of *****

Watching Diabolique (criterion), loving it! Going through my Hitchcock collections, watched The Birds (slow, talky, a few good moments but very overrated) and Strangers on a Train(gripping, creepy, lived up to the praise). Going to try Vertigo when I have the patience, lol!
