The Outsiders (1983, Coppola)
Cor!! I haven't seen this since vhs days. Now I know why . Not quite the overblown turd that Godfather III is, though that's not saying much. It's hard to say what's actually wrong with this film, it just seems to be ... shit at it's very core. Like Yentl or Ishtar, this just reeks of MEEEEE. Pass.

Gotham by Gaslight, DC's latest animated film (i only like a few) very impressive & most like Under the Red Hood, victorian london meets gotham city with bats vs Jack the Ripper, lots of false leads and comic nods, worth a watch but unsure if it will be watched again (only because of time on my part).
4/5

Death on the Nile. Hercule Poirot is holidaying in Egypt when he gets drawn into the murder of a young heiress who seems to have almost as much in the way of enemies as she does in money. Peter Ustinov leads a fantastic cast (David Niven, Angela Lansbury, Lois Chiles, Mia Farrow, Olivia Hussey, Jack Warden, Bette Davis, George Kennedy) in this enjoyable and classy late 70s adaptation of the Agatha Christie whodunnit. Very entertaining old school fun.

Watched a couple of films yesterday.

Hex (1980): Just released on DVD/Blu-Ray by 88 Films Asia. Not bad little story about a woman who murders her drunk, abusive husband and is then haunted by his spirit. Not bad little ghost movie. Good twist. good atmosphere. Odd comedic section in the middle that stuck out like a sore thumb. Overall, it was worth watching. 7.10

Would You Rather? (2012): Caught this on Netflix. I can never usually find anything worth watching on Netflix, but I decided to watch this. A thriller about a young woman who is looking after her dying brother when their parents die. She is given an offer by an eccentric millionaire to take part in a dinner game. If she wins EVERYTHING will be taken care of, money problems, transplant for her brother etc. I don't want to give anything away with this one. This is a thriller that is a lot of fun. Great tension, great acting (for the most part), lots of recognisable faces and a great sense of extremely dark humour, thanks to the excellent Jefferey combs. I loved this! 8/10
