I've recently watched: Psychosis -- an interesting British horror/mystery starring Charisma Carpenter Donnie Darko -- still a great movie after all these years Samurai Zombie -- it's quite fun for what it is: completely ludicrous and overblown Ilsa: She Wolf of The SS -- it's amazing how tame this is given its rather notorious reputation Chloe: an extremely well written and neatly directed erotic thriller starring Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried who are all superb Micmacs: it's not the best film that Jean-Pierre Jeunet has ever made but it's still a terrific comedy/fantasy movie and anything that takes on the arms trade gets my vote Just about to start watching the director's cut of Donnie Darko so I can finish my review

I agree, the director's cut is overlong with plenty of scenes that really don't need to be there and seen just to be inserted for audiences who aren't smart enough to understand the film after a couple of viewings of the theatrical cut! Richard Kelly's career has kind of bombed after Donnie Darko with the messy and rather silly Southland Tales. He obviously has the talent to make a quality movie, it's just a question of finding the right idea. At least his recent output isn't as bad as M. Night Shyamalan's as his career has really taken a massive nosedive since The Sixth Sense -- his last few movies are absolute stinkers and, although I haven't seen it, The Last Airbender is supposed to be absolutely dire.

Just seen predators Was fun and glad I ddint see much CGI, altho the CGI explosion was kinda fake lookign. The predators themselves were all guys in suits and looked awesome. Liked the new predator "race". They are bad ass. Overall a good movie Hope Alien pre-quel is as fun and not a let down. |

Just finished watching the original Planet of the Apes tonight. A true masterpiece in every sense. This and 2001: A Space Odyssey are my two fav sci-fi films now, easily. This blows Star Wars clean out of the solar system, in my opinon of course

There's no competition, that is one of the greatest lines EVER in cinema. EVER! I've bought the box set of all the films (minus the remake which I've seen before) so I'm going to be going a bit ape over the next week. I hear that every odd numbered sequel is meant to be better than the evens.

not really, beneath isn't great, Escape is good, i love Conquest and Battle is very poor, more post apocalyptic, but all are better than the Burton remake. I remember seeing the TV show too that was pretty cool. The Problem with the second is James Franciscus isn't Chuck Heston and they tried to make his character too much like him. The new film Rise Of The Apes is more like Conquest as it shows how the Apes take over. I'll watch it because like my user name, i love monkeys....damn it now i gotta watch Planet of The Apes, cheers kyle another late night for pedro... |
