In & Of Itself (2020, Frank Oz)

A journey. A youngish man tells a tale of a chance encounter. Certain elements within this tale I will revisit shortly, just for peace of mind

Horribly vague as always, I feel that any more would rob you of your own participation of events. Damn that Adam Curtis, you always question everything after one of his missives

Recommended.

Little bit pissed but just tuned into Talking pictures channel for half an hour while i ate. random film...Venus Peter.

Don't know what da **** was going on but suddenly Sheila Keith from Peter Walker films turned up, the actual film looked really interesting too.

Somebody should start a Talking pictures thread because they are the most interesting channel on TV nowadays.

They seem to show a shitload of Network films as well, so watch before you buy and that.

For instance they showed Eyewitness the other day.

..Also earlier they showed an old Charlton Heston film "The Secret of the Incas" i only watched the arse end of that but it was obvious to me it was a prototype Indiana jones film.
I looked it up afterwards and it definitely influenced Raiders, there's a scene when he uses a beam of light to find treasure.

VENOM (2018)

Blasted by the critics but a box office success. Pure popcorn antics, one minute serious the next bordering on over the top stupid.
The effects look great and Venom is actually the size of of his comic book counterpart this time.
You just gotta go with the flow on this one. Not linked to any other movie in the Marvel Universe (Yet).

The New York Ripper. 1982.

A New York Police Detective teams up with a doctor to get into the kind of a serial killer who is killing people around the city.

The Late Great Lucio Fulci classic film along with House By The Cemetery and The Beyond, this time he brings a somewhat Giallo to the screen his way along with some sleazy moments and some sexploitation along the way. The Killings are done with the usual Fulci gore and plenty of it, ok the deaths can be over dramatic as well as the young girl in the car. Jack Hedley and Paolo Malco do make a good team figuring out the clues and where and when the killer may strike and what can make him tick.

Watched this a few times and always enjoyed it, a great fast paced monster movie , beautifully shot with some fantastic action scenes with Kong , found this a better film than the two Godzilla movies especially the first which was too dark . As great as Kong himself is my favourite character is John C Reilly stranded WW2 pilot, whom lights up every scene. 8.5/10

Now watching.

Followed by( which never seen before).
