That was the doublebill I watched tonight following Death Note on BD. I'm now working my way through disc 3 of House season 6. [Rec2] was almost as good at home as it was at the cinema although I'm still not sure soundtrack I prefer as it sounds better with the 5.1 but, with the faux documentary aesthetic, the stereo should be the soundtrack of choice. I think a repeat viewing as called for with the 2.0 to see how well that one holds up.

I have to disagree with you there as I think it is one of the finest films of the last 15 years.

I re-watched John Carpenters They Live last night. It's such a fantastic film. From the opening shot, acompanied by the synth music, there is no way that you could not know you're watching a Carpenter film.

This is the first time I have watched it on quite a big screen and I have never really notcied how well it was shot, I love the steady-cam work.

One of Carpenters all time best up there with Halloween and the Thing.

Agreed, its one of the best and longest street brawls I've seen put to film. It looks like they're really going at it.

Plus there's an fantastic moment when Nada takes down a cop with a very WWF style clothes line. Awesome.

I laughed when I watched the fight scene because it is just so over the top and reminds me of that ongoing sketch in The Fast Show called (I think) The Long Big Fight where two guys just keep slugging each other hour after hour.

it's a right old barrel of cockney monkeys. Love the fast show, South Park did the same fight almost exact to he punch for the cripple fight episode...

Watched Rape! 13th Hour last night. It's really just an excuse for rape scene after rape scene isn't it? Not much plot, not much dialogue, just seems like set-pieces from one rape to the next. Plus the 'apprentice' looked so pathetic and sleazy. Half the time he looked like he wasn't even 'enjoying' what he was supposed to be doing. Was the main character trying to be David Hess with all the gurning he was doing? Meh.

I don't think the BBFC would like it much either, to be honest.
