The Long Weekend is an absolute classic. It really does have to be seen to be believed. I'd recommend you put it straight to the top of the to watch pile.

I second that. A very eerie film indeed.

Was in the town with my daughter at the weekend and bought a couple of ex-rental dvds.
In bruges(a great, funny thriller, which i caught at the flicks a while back.) and pathology(which i missed at the flicks a while back.Heard mixed reviews on this one,but it was only £3)

Well i'm always buying dvds. Last Week i'd ordered :

1. Braindead (Absolutely Amazing; One Of The Best Horror Films Ever Made)
2. Children Of The Corn (Decent in parts, sightly out dated now)
3. Child's Play (Still an amazing film)
4. Jacobs Ladder (Watching Friday)
5. The Brood (Watching Sunday)

This week i'm waiting for my copy of 'Donkey Punch' to come through the post; then this weekend i'm ordering 'The Mist'; 'Bad Taste' and possibly 'Shivers'. Still need to get my hands on 'Inferno' and 'Mother Of Tears'.

I too totally agree.Left a big impression on me when I watched it first as a youngster on BBC 2.I have the Aussie Umbrella dvd version.Creepy & well acted. The Australians do seem to be very good at atmospheric genre films.Other greats in this department include Razorback,Picnic At Hanging Rock & Wolf Creek.I've heard good reports about Weir's The Last Wave but I've yet to pick it up.

The Last Wave is excellent and well recommended. The Chant Of Jimmie Blacksmith is another cracker.

Yes I've seen Jimmie Blacksmith which I believe was based on a true story.Mad Dog Morgan starring Dennis Hopper is fine though I'd like to see it without panning & scanning.Geoff "Under Siege 2"Murphy's UTU (1983) from New Zealand is also an interesting film:-

Hey cloud, I just finished watching Dont Mess with my Sister. Really enjoyed it, it's a decent gritty little drama/ character study with some great slow burning tension, thought the no name actors did a really good job too, very believable. Can't believe this film gets so much flack (probably from people expecting to just see another ISOYG I imagine) It really dosen't deserve it's bad rep.
