Watched an Irish movie called Savage. Its about a guy who is brutally attacked by a couple of scumbags and tries to overcome his fear which leads to him seeking revenge.
Was great to see an Irish movie that was gritty, ugly and depressing without the cutsie Oirish bullshit most movies are full of. The ending is very brutal too.

Just seen the new Gregg Araki flick Kaboom.
This movie is mainly about exploring sexuality but has a scifi/horror storyline in it.
I liked it, thought it was entertaining and good. Altho I do think Araki shys away from sex scenes as most of his movies feature sex topics heavily and yet he hardly shows anything.
The 3 sum scene is just teased and then thats it it goes! And they dont even talk about it again

Doubt its a movie everyone will enjoy. The ending is also way out there and kinda like wtf!

DEADBEAT AT DAWN - a good film considering its budget
OBSESSION - Brian De Palma's excellent thriller with a haunting score by Bernard Hermann
MAN BITES DOG - Belgian mock documentary style/black comedy about a psycho

A nice triple threat of films there James.

I haven't seen Deadbeat at Dawn in a while, but would love to see a decent UK DVD of it materialise in the near future.

it was banned on video some years ago
I know the BBFC have improved their ways etc in recent years and the dvd shouldn't be a problem but some scenes in Deadbeat At Dawn might prove trouble with them...
But who knows with them...their unpredictable!

One of my favourite Van Damme films. I've seen myself playing the trailer on a loop lol. Probably more to do with the use of The Prodigy song, Firestarter though.

why are action films always more exciting when in the hands of asian film makers, Ringo Lam did a cracking job on this...
