The Forest (1982)
I like my films a bit weird so do have a soft spot for this low budget supernatural backwoods horror...wouldn't call it great though and most people will think it's not very good.

I mostly agree with this statement over at Bleeding Skull who seem to share my taste in weird movies:

"After the slowdive depression of The Love Butcher, Don Jones has officially redeemed himself in the eyes of trash poobahs everywhere. The Forest was incredibly dumb, sometimes boring, and sprinkled with several eccentric ticks. See it now."

you can watch the uncut scene online, you can't really tell its missing.
I'm really tempted to order it now! The feature Invasion of Bee Girls is doubled with Invasion of Star Creatures sounds delightfully awful! Thanks Demdike

Your welcome.

Invasion of the Star Creatures is just awful, imagine a poor Carry on film with rubbish* aliens set on a military base.

Bee Girls has the lovely Hammer star Victoria Vetri in a very revealing role

* sorry but rubbish is the only way to describe them.

I ordered the DVD not 5 minutes before it's first recent mention on here. Not sure if that was a good or bad move now!

just watched Jerome Bixby's The Man From Earth, which was an excellent film. It was about a man who reveals to his friends on the last day before he leaves that he is 14000 year old man and proceeds to tell his life story that goes through history and religion with a revelation that basically says the bible is bull. it's good because his friends at first think he's insane but then get dragged into his story and start to actually believe him. definitely a recommendation..

I have had the dvd about 6 months and have watched it twice (not star creatures though)

Its one on its own really.

Just watched The Tourist this evening, quite enjoyable. Angelina looked absolutely stunning throughout, as though she had walked straight out of 1940's Hollywood.

Just watched My Bloody Valentine (original). Unfortunately I only own the cut version but I still really enjoyed it. I don't currently have the ability to play region 1 discs so I guess I'll have to wait to see the restored version.

Yeah, I've just been checking the prices of multi region players. I used to have one but it died and it's about time I replaced it. There's a lot of region 1 discs I need to get.
