I just this minute ordered The Master Of Gore Collection from Something Weird Video containing Colour Me Blood Red, 2000 Maniacs, The Wizard Of Gore, The Gruesome Twosome. I watched Blood Feast the other night and really enjoyed that - so might as well get this boxset :P

Oh, and a Dawn Of The Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre poster!!!!

I've got the two R1 Something Weird HGL box sets. I like HGL films, especially THE GORE GORE GIRLS and TWO THOUSAND MANIACS but I've never been able to warm to his films in the same way I have with similar(ish) trash filmmakers of the time such as Andy Milligan, Larry Buchanan and S.F. Brownrigg. For all of the quirks his films have, a lot are bogged down by some mindless tedium, I think WIZARD OF GORE is especially a victim of that and what stopped it from becoming a bona fide classic. I will say one thing though, no self respecting gorehound's collection is complete without his films in. That's for sure.

I have 2001 MANIACS sat in the pile though haven't got round to watching it yet.

I picked up the r2 Dutch release of the classic BBC series I CLAUDIUS.13 episodes on 2 flipper discs.I never knew that the episode "Zeus by Jove" where Caligula (John Hurt) kills his sister by removing the Foetus from her womb,(also apparently eating it) was cut after its first transmission. It is obvious looking at the dvd that the scene where Claudius is advised by Caligula not to look has been shortened.I gather the footage of the grisly aftermath (removed due to complaints) was lost & has never been seen since.

Just ordered the Eastern Horror set mainly because of it's inclusion of Indonesian horror Pengabdi setan (Satan's Slave) and the "so bad it's good" Robo Vampire!

Pengabdi Setan is good. I saw stills of it on a website a few years ago and was desperate to see it but I found out only a rare Asian Laserdisc was available. I was so excited when BCI released it - even if the quality is poor.

I have the Advantage set with 10 other Eastern Horrors in as well as the standalone of Return Of The Evil Fox and something else.

Picked up THE RELIC r1 from my local Barnados for £2.00.I thought the UK dvd version had an overly dark transfer (The Polygram videos became unwatchable once the VIPs are trapped in the museum)I'm hoping the US disc is a bit better.
