An interesting double feature this evening: - The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie by Luis Bunuel: great flick. I'm gonna post a little review over the next few days. - The Walking Dead by Michael Curtiz: one of the best Classic Horror flicks. Karloff is mesmerising! Film stills will follow tomorrow. Greetings! |

Saw APOLLO 18, it's a 'lost footage' type job, though quite entertaining I should warn that it is full of flashing, strobing. blinking images(most I've ever seen in a film) so if that's a problem keep clear. Very hokey in places, i.e. if you're ever on the moon and think there's beasties about, don't go down a dark crater on your own. Tho they are hardly ever seen the beasties are squirm inducing, it's less than 90min long so no real padding needed, you'll see lots of influences and the ending and plot details will be sussed by members here in a jot, but the audience seemed into it. Just don't expect ALIEN or a CGI or effects fest. And remember about those flashes. I kinda liked it, sort of.

just rewatched Attack the Block. As entertaining as when I first saw it at the cinema! i do think its a very clever movie as its a actual original movie involving aliens! The creatures actually look cool and the comedy is good. |

just watched a film called Middle Men about the creation of the internet porn boom in the late 90s and the corruption and dodgy dealings that went on behind the scenes. Luke Wilson is very good in it. Also has James Caan as a corrupt lawyer and Giovanni Ribisi steals the film as one of the originators of pay per view online porn. Kind of a cross between Social Network and Blow.

Does Hatchet 2 have, "It's not based on a Japanese one." on it?

Love the fact that they used the exact cameras that were used by HBO in the original fights to give it that added authenticity for the fight sequences. And the women? Wow that is one crazy ass family It also has Wang Chung's Dancehall Days on it, which is such an ace tune.

Haha! I wouldn't expect there to be much Wang Chung love around these parts, but hey, I'm a sucker for the 80s and synths

I also really like Enchanted. It's a film that shouldn't really work but does and, even though the ending is somewhat predictable, Adams is terrific and the script is really smart in a knowing way.
