All the ones in the photo and many, many more i own were taken home with me when i went to the cinema in the 90's. You didn't have to ask for them, they were there for patrons to take freely.
So due to the fact nobody actually knows what i mean, i presume that this is no longer practiced in cinemas.
With a bit of luck @nicholasrope will know as i believe said forum member actually works in a cinema. | I remember these from the late 90s early 00s. Especially in Odeon, they had stacks of posters lying around in the lobby ranging from small leaflet sized ones through to half sheets and one sheets. I used to get them loads when I was younger. Not sure when it stopped though, there was a period when I stopped going to the chain cinemas and only went to the local arthouse(ish) cinema in Liverpool and they didn't do it at all, and it's only in the last few years I've been back to Odeon and they definitely don't have anything in the lobby, and in fact most of the poster screens are digital.
