I remember first hearing that on the wonderful & much-missed John Peel show on R1 and wondering what the heck it was. I bought it straight after (and still have it on vinyl).

I caught that same double-bill and found Chariots of Fire to be bloated nonsense. Nice score, though. As you say, Gregory's Girl was great fun and made up for the rather crap sister feature.

I found Chariots Of Fire to be hugely overrated when I first saw it, and still think the same now. Ian Holm steals the film (as ever) but it's an all round slog for me.

It may be herecy but I can't stand Vangelis's music either. A synthesized theme in a 1920's film.

I enjoy the old school LT stuff but i reckon these new 'toons will be embarrasingly PC and shorn of the blackly comic violence we remember from days gone by. Many of us of a certain age recall vintage Sylvester And Tweety but how many actually preferred the horribly watered down The Sylvester And Tweety Mysteries? I rest my case.
