Has anyone bought Gas-s-s-s yet? The Signal One BD that came out this week. I've not seen the film before but the synopsis sounds good. Is it worth a shot?

My copy arrived yesterday from Amazon.

If you're familiar with '60s and '70s Corman films then you may know what to expect, however if not the film is basically a meandering satirical post-apocalyptic film centering around a group of hippie characters. Nothing much happens as such and there is no end-goal to the plot - it's basically a road-trip movie with no destination... if that makes sense!

I enjoyed it overall but found some of the satire to be a little hit or miss. The Signal One Blu looks and sounds decent for the most part and there are a fair few special features too if that's your thing. For £8.99 from Amazon or HMV I'd definitely say it's worth a punt and overall I'm glad I added it to my collection.

Great write up Bizarre_Eye. Nice and informative.

It doesn't sound like one that would interest me though.

Thanks!
I ordered it shortly after posting my original should I buy it, because at least the doc about Roger Corman and the counter-culture sounded interesting and it's only £8.99...

...so much for my one new year's resolution of spend less on discs I've already ordered like 3 this year!

I've only watched them once, and it had been a long time since I saw the DVDs, but it looked as if there was an improvement, but not a massive one. Unless you really love the movies, I'd stick with the Shameless DVD set.

The transfers are apparently not great, although I haven't seen them myself.

I'm happy enough with my Shameless tin for now.
