I watched it once, years ago on YouTube and enjoyed it, from what I remember it's a B movie in the same vein as the monster movies from the 50's, just done Italian style

I think it's still on there if you fancy checking it out before giving Arrow any brass ( I'm gonna wait for a price drop)

It's basically an Italian rip-off of The Blob, but not as good. Also, Bava is only really assistant director with Riccardo Freda taking the director's chair for the most part. I saw it a few years ago and remember kind of enjoying it overall; as '50s Italian monster movies go you could certainly do worse. It's a curio for sure and I'll be picking it up eventually (if only to patch up some holes in my sketchy recollection of the film), but only when it drops in price as it's certainly not worth £15.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I'll wait until it's in an Arrow sale in about 7 years.

Hopefully, I will have a few minutes to skim the book this weekend. If that's the case, I'll report back.

Has anyone seen these highly rated french films??
I reviewed the StudioCanal Collection Blu-ray release several years ago and, if anyone is interested, could paste the entire review here or send it by private message. One of the paragraphs, at least the one that concluded the first part of the review: went like this:

"This really is a masterpiece of a heist movie with superb performances by Alain Delon as Corey, Gian Maria Volonté as Vogel, Yves Montand as Jansen and Bourvil as the icy cool Commissioner Mattei. All of these actors make an indelible impression on the audience and are perfect in the roles to the extent that I can't imagine anyone else as any of the characters. As heist films go, this is one of the finest I have ever seen and as a masterpiece in tension, suspense and constructing the perfect crime thriller."
