There's about seven minutes missing.
The Vestron release is not cut as such - it is the Francis Ford Coppola director cut

When the film was originally released, producer Roger Corman didn't like the result, so he hired Jack Hill to film two additional scenes featuring Karl Schanzer as a poacher

This release is the original Coppola version with these new parts removed

From DVD Compare:

Quote:
GENERAL NOTES:
The film exists in four versions:
- Francis Ford Coppola's unseen director's cut (~69 minutes at 24fps);
- the theatrical cut (~75 minutes at 24fps) featuring two additional scenes directed by Jack Hill featuring a poacher: the first in which he startles Kane and is chastised by Billy, and the second in which he is decapitated by the killer;
- the theatrical cut with the "Test" introduction by Dr. William Joseph Bryan who is credited as "technical advisor" on the end credits of all versions (~82 minutes);
- the director's cut as it screened in 2018 with the Bryan introduction (~75 minutes).
Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - Dementia 13 AKA The Haunted and the Hunted (Blu-ray) (1963)

I don't have a decent release of Dementia 13 – the best DVD I have is from the Hollywood Classics Collection, released by Madacy Home Video – so I quite fancy Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Vestron Collector's Series Blu-ray release.

That's the problem really. There isn't a decent UK release of Dementia 13 which contains all shot scenes other than some on those 50 movie dvd packs which aren't what you'd call decent at all.

It's not the sort of film i'd want to be spending £20-30 to import either.

That's what makes the Blu-ray release with a commentary and other features for £6.50 extremely tempting.

It's £8.99 in store. Looks like I could get it online to collect in store for £6.50 though which is odd. Understanding its the director's cut status that means it's missing footage makes it a bit more appealing but it would have been nice to include both versions surely.

It's £13.99 at HMV, reduced to £6.50 with the Flash50 code.

At that price and with the slip i'd most likely pick it up.

Ultimately is the film itself any good? Doesn't really matter which version or what features if the films as naff as some reviews would suggest.

I don't dislike it. It's atmospheric and interesting but also flawed. But it's not one i'd go round recommending to people if you get my drift.
