If i recall Wolfhound was pretty dreadful.

It must have been as it has Playmate's in it, which is good..
... but i no longer own it... so it really must have been poor.

Ok friends,
I ordered the dutch release of the Ilsa Trilogy but as we all know how the postal service works sometimes it got lost in the mail. The seller was kind and gave me a refund so i just have to order it again.

But as there is two other releases of the same box (Anchor Bay and Scanbox) should i buy one of those instead or should i stick to my first choise?

Wich one do you own and can you recommend it? All seems to be uncut and anamorphic.

I had the dutch set and the transfers are uncut & 16/9 and look great.

The AB and Dutch set's both contain the first two but contain a different ILSA on the third disc: Dutch set includes ILSA: TIGRESS of SIBERIA while the AB contains ILSA THE WICKED WARDEN instead.

The AB also has commentary's but I've read they aren't very good.

I have to disagree strongly. The commentaries are brilliant - not to mention Don Edmonds and David Friedman are no longer with us, so they're worth having for that reason alone, they won't be recording a new commentary anytime soon. Their anecdotes are funny and insightful and Dyanne Thorne comes across very well too.

I love towards the end of the commentary on the first Ilsa and Edmonds recalls a fan coming up to him after a screening and asking if the reason for a certain shot towards the end of the film that was shot in shadow was an artistic statement. Friedman said 'No, we ran out of money and the lighting man had gone home.'

Seriously, these are some of the very, very few commentaries I've actually been interested in enough to listen to. It's also worth noting that these commentaries were the first time Friedman and Edmonds had talked in well oevr two decades after falling out. So they start a bit stilted, you can almost feel the awkwardness, but they soon get into it and it becomes riveting listening. Like learning that Dyanne Thorne still receives over 200 letters a month regarding the Ilsa character and that the film was shot guerilla style on the disused set of Hogan's heroes.

So, yeah, I think these commenatries are very good. Far better than with new films where they just talk about how great the film is. I also love how Thorne challenges Friedman on hiding behind a pseudonym, reels off all the trashy films he's made and then says 'And you took your name off this one?'

Ok, so i got my Ilsa films today and most go out with a big warning of the seller ____THE_BEST_ON_DVD____ on amazon. He got a lot of positive feedback but just look what i got.

First of all i didn't get the box for the films. They came separatly and all DVD cases are of different types.

All covers looks blurry and does not look like professionally printed.

The disc for Tigress of Siberia states PAL while the covers on all three films states NTSC. Is this mistake also on the real ones?

And the worst: Just look att the She Wolf DVD. This cover is printed on a thicker material than the others and the disc.. well.

What surprised me the most was that the disc are not printed on DVD-R but real ones.

I've used ____THE_BEST_ON_DVD____quite frequently & have no complaints. Some Dutch releases are a bit iffy looking but genuine.I was mad when I ordered the Dolph Lundgren film SHOOTER though. It stated removable dutch subs on the sleeve but they were burnt in.
