Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reboot in the works with the 'Dig' Directors

Legendary has closed a deal for Ryan and Andy Tohill to direct a reboot of the 1974 horror film ''The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'', sources tell Variety.

The pic will be written by Chris Thomas Devlin with Bad Hombres Fede Alvarez and Rodolfo Sayagues producing through their overall deal with Legendary.

''The Tohill's vision is exacly what the fans want '', Alvarez said in a statement, ''It's violent, exciting and so depraved that it will stay with you forever''.

The original 1974 Tobe Hooper movie followed tow siblings and three of their friends en route to visit their grandfather's grave in Texas, who end up falling victim to a family of cannibalistic psychopaths and must survive the terrors of Leatherface and his family.

What was at first considered a cult classic has grown into one of the horror's most iconic properties, spawning three sequels, including one that starred Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger.

Can't be arsed to watch the trailer but the screen shot above looks more like Zombie Flesh Eaters than anything else.

I see The Hunt is finally being releasd in March. Not wanting to get political, all I'll say is that it being pullled from release had something to do with someone who looks like a Cheeto speaking out about it's premise. It's been given a new poster and trailer, and it looks like those who complained about it were jumping the gun a little.

James Bobin talks to direct Clue reboot

The Muppets director James Bobin is in early talks to direct Ryan Reynolds in the movie reboot based on the board game "Cluedo" an individual knowledge of the project told TheWarp,

Back in September, TheWarp reported that Jason Bateman was in talks to direct and potentially co-star in the film, but his deal never closed, as the actor had a conflict with his obligations to the Netflix series "Ozark".

"Clue" is set up at 20th Centuary Studios and has Reynolds attached to star and produce via his Maximum Effort banner.
