Cinema's Coolest Baddies
There's two types of baddies in cinema. There's the totally bat-shit crazy, OTT ones and then there's the cool as ice ones. From Scar to Agent Smith and Hannibal, these are often much quieter, calmer, supressed and very manipulative. Yet, get on their bad side and you may not live to regret it. Bruce Willis plays a rather interesting blend of these two types in the new Catch .44. You never know quite what he's going to do next which always keeps you on the edge of your seat. Especially at the end, which I won't say anymore about. You'll just have to see for yourself! Ok, so what do you prefer? What type of evil character do you find most terrifying in film? Vote above and let us know why! Got any favourite villians?

Gian Maria Volonté as Indio in For A Few Dollars More. Charles Napier as Harry Sledge in Supervixens. Jack Palance as Wilson in Shane. Robert Mitchum as Harry Powell in The Night Of The Hunter. Robert Mitchum as Max Cady in Cape Fear. Lee Van Cleef as Angel Eyes in The Good The Bad And The Ugly. Henry Fonda as Frank in Once Upon A Time In The West. And for over-the-top drooling, eye-rolling, mugging wonder and glory, Jack Palance as Voltan in Hawk The Slayer. And not forgetting Les Femmes Fatales! Barbara Stanwyck as Phyllis Dietrichson in Double Indemnity Joan Bennett as Kitty March in Scarlet Street Alida Valli as Louise in Les Yeux Sans Visage Eva Renzi as Monica Ranieri in The Bird With The Crystal Plumage Oh, and the wonderful Ursula (voiced by Pat Carroll) in The Little Mermaid! And other non-humans... King Ghidorah HAL 9000 (voiced by Douglas Rain) in 2001 A Space Odyssey The Alien in Alien (Bolaji Badejo) Most terrifying of all: Boo as Ella in Monkey Shines Last edited by Gojirosan; 28th May 2012 at 11:20 AM. |

But Boo/Ella isn't a baddie. The reason why she acts like she does is because she just loves Alan too much. She is misunderstood, like Evil Monkey

Great list, Goji! One I'd definitely like to add is: Raymond Lemorne (Bernard-Pierre Donnadieu) - The Vanishing (Spoorloos). |
