Here's something new on the German gore front:

"Schlaraffenhaus":

TRAILER

I liked Marcel Walz's other ventures into modern torture-flavoured indie horror- "Tortura" and "La Petite Mort"- and this one looks just as if it got the right amount of glossy visuals and style to be well above average German splatter fare.

SUPPOSEDLY the BluRay of this is coming with a"3D version"!

"Schlaraffenahus" is scheduled for a release on DVD/BluRay at some point in autumn....

I have The Burning Moon, Garden of Love and Nekromantik.

I need more of German splatter and gore. This is my favourite.

Every so often Timo Rose 'pokes' me on FaceBook...

Timo Rose is very good at promoting himself on Facebook, as his Andreas Schnass, Marcel Walz but the most friendly of them all is Marc Rohnstock.

you should check out Timo's movies if you like Olaf Ittenbach's stuff Also have a look at Andreas Bethhmann

I really like 'Der Todesking'. Casting my mind back to when I first saw it, it reminds me of a time when such films felt they had a genuinely edgy, underground sensibility, not because of the splatter, but because of the morbid tone and defiant, experiemental attitude. I wish Jorg Buttgereit had continued to make films - well, obviously he did a couple after 'Der Todesking', 'Schramm' being imo the best.
