I thought long and hard about putting Cannibal Holocaust on my list but, as much as I appreciate it, I struggle to consider it one of my favourite films.

I'm not sure why, but I didn't think including King Kong on my list even though it is a monster movie which no doubt terrified audiences in the 1930s. I suppose I consider it more an adventure film than a horror, though a compelling argument can no doubt be made to the contrary.
