I just watched this the other day. I wouldn't call it disturbing, per se. I enjoyed it. The end was beautiful.

not necessarily for explicitness but deliverance is still one of the most unsettling things I've ever seen, and obviously last house on the left is up there in my books, and my girlfriend wouldn't speak to me after I made her watch Cannibal Holocaust I'm sure these are all pretty outdated by today's standards but I really don't know a thing about modern films so couldn't possibly comment on that |

What i have noticed some films are divided when people complain about them like Serbian film. Life death of a porno gang, But what i have noticed is that no one seems to be defending Human centipede 2 and most ppl on here and other forums have complained he has gone a step to far with the 2nd one, |

Ahem. Also I wish people would stop lumping them all together....a hangover from the fetishisation (?) of a certain DPP list imo cough cough.

While I did enjoy the Human Centipede films, I think Tom Six is a pretentious twat rambling about how "extreme" and "hardcore" they are. They were decent films. Nothing more. He's not really pushing any boundaries. OMG, he put SHIT in the movie!?!?!?! OMFWTFBBQ!!!!! - Razor88 |

Generally speaking, I never found those films which set out from the very start to be "disturbing" disturbing. Really, if you have t try that hard to be shocking and offensive, then odds are you really don't have anything really that interesting to say to begin with. One thing that really offends me in films is nihilism, and more especially the fake, hipster, empty posturing brand of nihilism. For me, watching a film should be an "uplifting" experience. By this I don't mean a film has to have a "positive" message, but that it should show me something that makes my emotional investment in it a profitable one. Films like A Serbian Film, Life and Death Of A Porno Gang, or the Guinea Pig films, these films I find offensive, not for their graphic depictions of sex and violence, but because they're so dreadfully mundane in them. |
