Btw just received Massacro (1989) (R2,EC Entertainment).
Andrea Bianchi's very late second entry in the giallo genre...
Curious about that one.

Bought the blue underground Case Of The Bloody Iris yesterday so that should be here this week and still have Don't Torture A Duckling, A Blade In The Dark, The Black Belly Of The Tarantula and Door Into Darkness left to watch. Giallo filled week.

I also bought Hitch-Hike yesterday too, does that count as a giallo? I remember it being on the list of recommendations bdc wrote

Nice ones!
Interested in your findings...
Hitch-Hike does count as a giallo since it's in the Blood and Black Lace book.

Looking at the poll above it seems suspense gialli aren't very popular?
I wonder why since I love them...maybe not many people have seen these films?
Or are they just too subtle?

Just finished watching Bianchi's Massacre (1989) and oh boy!
Late extremely sleazy and trashy (shoe-string budget probably) giallo from the man who gave the world Strip Nude for your Killer...
There are a few decent looking scenes in it but overall I'd say this certainly isn't a great giallo.
Still it has a séance (like a few other gialli),lesbians, gays, nudity,a strange killer, some supernatural touches (yes,it's actually a giallo fantastico, well part of it!),the story involves the making of a horror movie (which seems to involve filming transvestite scenes?) and a decent amount of gore (some killings near the end are a bit tame tough).
I'd say I sort of enjoyed watching it but be advised that I also said that when I finished watching Mattei's Madness (1994 and better imho).

That could well be it. I've yet to but Sweet Body Of Deborah and haven't seen Orgasmo. Perversion Story I liked a lot. Has a bit of the Hitchcockian 'wrong man' feel to it. What else would you class in that genre?

Argentofan - That's quite a list of heavy hitters! Watched Black Belly again the other night and for the first time in Italian, which I have to say I much preferred.

Also watched Case Of The Scorpion's Tail for the first time. I'm not sure if I was just on Giallo overload or not in the mood but I got a bit bored by halfway.. I'll have to go back to it another time.

Yeah giallo overload,I also get that sometimes...
I usually mix my viewing but still when on a giallo trip...it helps to watch some other stuff then and return to the giallo genre afterwards (feels good everytime!).

A few other films I would classify as suspense giallo (there's more):

So Sweet... So Perverse
Paranoia
Dirty Pictures aka Oasis of Fear
Your Vice Is A Locked Room And Only I Have The Key (some gothic influences as well)
Knife Of Ice
Amuck
Smile Before Death
The Perfume Of The Lady In Black (extreme suspense! )
Waves of Lust
The Body

A little musical interlude...

Out of complete coincidence I just watched Hitch Hike this evening!

Cracking film, i was really surprised by it and think it is excellent. In the Blood and Black Lace book or not, I would not call it a giallo though.

I've definitely gone over to the dark side. I got Lenzi's "Spasmo", a Dutch release which easily's got the worst front cover compared to any DVD. It looks like one of those porn movies that attempt to include a plot too. So now i am tempted to buy an expensive Eyecatcher release that's got a great cover. Have you ever done something like this? Is it - too - crazy?

Well I wouldn't either really...
But since it's in the book a lot of people call it a giallo.
I'm planning on revisiting this one as well.
