I threatened this on the Eurocine thread, and found none on a search, so here we go...the Filmirage Thread! The production company of sleaze maestro Joe D'Amato, responsible for releasing his various flicks of depravity (Absurd, Anthropophagus), while also releasing films for Michelle Soavi (Stagefright), Fulci (Door Into Silence), Umberto Lenzi (Ghosthouse), Claudio Fragasso (Zombie 4: After Death) and George Eastman (Metamorphosis). Feel free to discuss these films, or any other Filmirage offerings, here! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks, BDC. ![]() Has anyone else actually seen Metamorphosis? I have it on a Mill Creek 'Chilling Tales' 50 pack, and-although it wasn't great-it was cool to see one of the two (?) films directed by my man George Eastman, the other being 2020 Texas Gladiators I believe? And I'd love to ask Robert Vaughn about Killing Birds, because lord knows he doesn't have much to say on the DVD extra interview! ![]() |

I watched Metamorphosis on vhs ages ago, don't remember much but I don't think it was a great film. ![]() Robert Vaughn doesn't seem to remember much about Killing Birds, probably because he was only hired for a couple of days or so. He actually recalls more about his Corman days. ![]() |

I'm not surprised to hear Vaughn doesn't remember much; he seems to be sleepwalking through what few scenes he does have, despite receiving top billing! ![]() I actually have quite the soft spot for After Death. Much like Mattei/Fulci's Zombi 3, it hits home with that 'popcorn zombie' feel of an afternoon's fun. ![]() |

![]() No, Killing Birds is terrible, for sure. A waste of awesome DVD box art, for sure! Although once the zombies show up (for no reason) things get a little better. ![]() |

![]() Yup! Stagefright was indeed a Filmirage release! I actually don't like this flick as much as everyone else seems to, mainly due to the atrocious dubbing. The dialogue (particularly the janitor's rambling at the end) really gets under my skin, haha.
