Happy birthday to John Carpenter, born on January 16th, 1948

It's a strange picture (just like the film itself!). I am trying to work out whether he is actually standing in front of the statue, or whether it is a really bad photoshoped image!!

Felt like sharing my John Carpenter top-ten:

10 - They Live
9 - Starman
8 - In The Mouth of Madness
7 - Prince of Darkness
6 - Christine
5 - Big Trouble In Little China
4 - The Fog
3 - Halloween
2 - Escape From New York
1 - The Thing

Escape From LA almost made it, I think it has quite an unfair bad reputation amongst JC and EFNY fans.

I bought this again a few months ago. Third time i've bought the dvd. I don't intend to get rid of it a third time. Like the Dr. Phibes films, i need them for the collection.

No love for Assault on Precinct 13? That would be in my number one spot.

Assault is a masterclass in suspense.

Every time you watch it,you don't expect the thugs to go through with the little girl shooting!

Hopefully Carpenter's VAMPIRES and GHOSTS OF MARS will ship soon from PH.

I need to give GOM another go,can't be as bad as I remember.

Vampires,I've always had a soft spot for.
