Legend ol' Sam was, bloody legend by nature, bloody Sam by name. Discuss all aspects here, and as CROSS OF IRON has just been released on Blu Ray,here's something to whet those appetites...... What was Sam's BEST film? I can't believe he hasn't a thread of his own yet!

My fave has to be 'The Wild Bunch', the film has so much to say, and says it so well. And what a cast.

![]() I like his other films too (I even have some love for CONVOY!) but those are the ones that stick out the most. I'd say after Stanley Kubrick, Peckinpah is my favourite american film director. |

Major Dundee and Ride the High Country are both great films. For me Peckinpah had Randolph Scott produce his finest performance in RTHC.

I found The Ballad of Cable Hogue to be very disappointing, easily his weakest western.

Couldn't pick a favourite, Ride The High Country, The Ballad Of Cable Hogue, The Wild Bunch, Cross Of Iron, Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid, Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia...all too good to chose just one!
