Franco's Demoniac was released uncut by mistake over here restoring all the BBFC cuts from 2003. By the way one cut, that was made to make it suitable for adults, was to remove an extremely disturbing shot of a woman being slapped across the face.

Personally I thought it was dull myself.

I've a few Franco's but haven't got round to watching them all yet, is ABUK's Sadomania worth watching.?
I've watched Isla and Jess's Cannibal flicks plus Bloody Moon and my favourite Franco, Oasias of the Zombies, so how does Sadomania rate.?

It didn't do much for me to be honest. Very typical Franco woman's prison stuff. Loads of nudity and loads of boredom.

The ABUK DVD is surprisingly only mildly cut (the nipple piercing), considering it was walloped by nearly 20 mins for cinema and rejected completely for video.

If you liked Franco's other WIP movies, you'll really enjoy this, if not....there's lots of other Franco to choose from, "Portugese Nun", "Jack, the Ripper" and "She Killed in Ecstasy" being particular faves of mine.

I reviewed "Sadomainia" in the short reviews thread, last post on the page linked below:

Haven't seen Sadomania, I know I wouldn't like it if I did but it does sound like it got off lightly.

Are there any Franco Films you genuinely like, Vince? Have only seen a few myself and can't say I liked any for the same reason the BBFC don't like him ie too much emphasis on exploitative sexual violence. That's just my opinion.

Fair enough, Angel!

I was also surprised to find out that the BBFC passed "Sadomania" in the almost complete form they did!

But I'd reccommend that you'd give "She Killed in Ecstasy" a go.
My personal fave Franco so far...and I have a feeling that one might surprise you in a positive way.

What did you think of Franco's Demoniac & Linda, Peter?

Incidently, I just ordered "Demoniac" and I'm looking forward to writing a review, since Franco flicks somehow get me easily inspired.
As for "Linda"...Haven't seen it yet and didn't sound too much on my wavelength...but since I'm currently in a "Franco-kind-of-mood", I might come across it rather sooner than later, too.

Next Francos on my "to watch" pile are "Sucubus" and "Justine".

Despite it's ropey sets I quite enjoyed Count Dracula. It isn't a masterpiece and extremely low-key but has an atmospheric feel to it. The Bloody Judge (another Lee film) is also enjoyable and well acted. I even found parts of Bloody Moon entertaining (sort of) and Oasis Of The Zombies is so ridiculous it's almost bearable (unlike the abysmal Devil Hunter).

That's about it really. The sexual violence in his movies just becomes tacky and boring for me when repeated in nearly every film.
