I'll just say that the new Enslaved album is tremendous.

Listened to it through six times already. Each listen is like a journey through an ethereal soundscape.

There are no songs as such in the typical sense - verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solos, verse, chorus - and often tracks that begin with catchy riffs (there are a lot by the way) never end with them as each track seemingly evolves as it goes along.

There's beauty here, definite ear worms, swirling rhythms, clean vocals, Kraftwerk style synths, ancient chants, sinister black metal....

It's quite simply very good!

Just managed to get a copy of Primordial's The Gathering Wilderness on cd for £3.59 from Music Magpie.

Rather pleased with that.

Been giving this album some hammer today. I love the way the music changes from Death metal to Black Metal depending on whether Glen Benton or Attila Csihar are doing the vocals.

Belphegor - Legions of Destruction.

I'm usually totally against remastered compressed to fu*k re-issues but this one is remixed and sounds amazing. Bought it the other day and The Twisted Nails of Faith sounds unreal, listen to it for Nick Barkers drums it's superb.

Dug out another classic album Animatronic by The Kovenant.

The Kovenant - The Human Abstract.

Animatronic (1999)

Nagash from Dimmu Borgir is the singer and Hellhammer on drums. Female vocals are from Therion's Eileen Küpper
