I bought that album when it came out in 2003 (Different art work though it featured a cut hand with ants) and it was unlike anything i'd heard at that point. It was scary.

Only just found out about this Venom cover version. It's not on their Youtube channel and was only available on the Celtic Cross edition of Cruelty and the Beast (1998)

All the other covers from that edition are on 2002's Lovecraft & Witch Hearts

It’s crazy that I’ve been a fan since their demo days and I’ve never heard that song before, but loads of the comments are saying how it was the first CoF song they ever heard because they illegally downloaded it back in the day haha.

Anyway, I was listening and thinking that it was good but then the keyboard came in and the blast beats and it ramped up a good few notches haha, great stuff!

In all honesty the production and keyboard flourishes make it probably better than the original which was very basic and poorly produced. It's still great though and extremely influential.
