You can't beat a bit of Emperor on a cold and windy night, and what better than the debut EP, which got played to death by me because it seemed like ages until the album came out. This was a split with Enslaved's Hordanes Land.

Night Of The Graveless Souls (Emperor EP 1993)

Hordanes Land wins for me every time. I love that album / ep.

It's fantastic, especially with future Emperor drummer Trym giving us a tour de force showcase of his skills. Also amazes me that Ivar was 15 when he recorded that EP and wrote all the music.

Please give this song a full listen no pots n pans just riffs real drums and amazing vocals. The harsh and clean vocals are beautiful such a big sound for just two guys.

Yes, it's good. I get a Killing Joke vibe from the clean vocals.

What would they be classed under? Death Metal?

It's classed as Death/ Black metal but I find it hard to really categorize them it's like bands like Primordial and Mastodon they just have their own thing going on it's hard to define. If that makes sense
