One of my all time favourites...

Skinny Puppy - Dead of Winter

...Even if it isn't appropriate for the current UK weather

I went to see The Black Crowes last night. Blinding set of southern soul with a heavy Faces vibe. However I did feel slightly old when I realised the last time I had seen them, it was 19 years ago. If that wasn't bad enough, Mrs MTDS pointed out that she would have been 13 when I first saw them! Blimey, that sounds a bit noncey, so I'd just like to point out Mrs MTDS was 20 when we started going out in case anyone thinks I'm the Jeeper Creeper!

Presently listening to: "The Fabric of Folk" by The Owl Service and Alison O'Donnell. Drone based folk with a hint of gloom.

That just made me cover my bed in coffee. Well done Sir.

Anyway, music, I'm all over Narrows, Elephant vs Leopard (my mates the singer) and Melvins this week.

Yeaaah, the Melvins! On a slightly-related note (Melvins/Fantomas/Patton/y'see?) I've just discovered Peeping Tom did a cover of Bobby Womack's 'Across 110th Street' which is fantastic

Cool

Just read that Blondie have a new album and are giving away the song 'Mother', seen that one on youtube looks pretty good, I'll have to investigate. Something to do with their website.

Seen the Crowes twice. The second time was at Blackburn King Georges Hall, they played for around 3 hours. The crowd and band were just sitting about chilling out during the gig, never seen a show like it. Chris Robinson was accepting crowd song requests it was great fun, if a little hazy.

Have you got Croweology ? it reminds me of said gig.

Sounds good, Demdike. I've got Croweology though I'm more of a fan of the first two lps. It was a greatest hits type set they did the other night though electric.
