John Fogerty - Travelin' Band

I guess Kenny Aronoff uses every possible roll in this groovy flick.

Greetings!

No offence, Dem, but that Van Halen song sounds very empty and lifeless to me - no power at all. This goes for most so-called 'Heavy Metal" bands in general - they are loud, they look mean, they play fast, yeah. But no life on the inside.

Listen to this instead!

Greetings!

I take it you don't see Zep and Purple as the originators of metal then?

Van Halen have never been a metal band either.

Yep, they are plain and simple Hard Rock for me.

That specific song is more Metal than Rock. At least for my ears. But I admit: I don't know about Heavy Metal and stuff like that - I only know that I don't like it. Tastes differ, ya know?

Here's my favourite Purple song - Lay Down, Stay Down.

Greetings!

I know. You're welcome.
Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.

You are going to love Dazed and Confused. As you say a superb soundtrack, plenty of lovely metal.
